Judges' Information and Application Form

Would you like to judge the 12th Annual Bluegrass and BBQ festival located in the scenic mountains of North Georgia this year?
We hope to invite a variety of new as well as experienced judges from a variety of locations.

But with the growing pool of KCBS judges in the Southeast, we cannot possibly use all judges who apply. The timeliness of your response as well as your recent judging experiences will be considered. We will notify you when we have a sufficient number of judges from which to choose, and this website will officially state all who apply after that time will be on a STANDBY LIST.

Please complete the information below and return no later than July 20, 2008. Remember, however, that the number of judges needed may well be filled before this date. Check out our local lodging options in case you are chosen to judge.

George Finger Memorial Challenge

The George Finger Challenge is to honor the late George Finger, who was an inspirational force behind the Dillard Bluegrass and BBQ Festival being born. All monies collected will be donated to a charity of the organizers' choice. This charity will be posted as well as announced with the amount of money raised.

This year funds raised for the George Finger Memorial Challenge will go to the Georgia Leukemia Foundation.

The rules are that there are no rules other than using the standard KCBS judging rules and turn-in times.

Entries may either be Sweet or Savory.
Turn-in time is 8:45
There wull be an entrance fee of $25.00 per entry. You may enter as many entries as you wish.
Only Judges may enter.
All judges of the entry will be cooks who have entered the KCBS Georgia State Championship Cookoff.
Trophies and ribbons will be awarded for the top five (5) winners.

Accepted judges will be notified as soon as possible!!!

PLEASE NOTE:

If we do not hear from you for two years, your name will be dropped from our mailing list.
If you are selected to judge and do not show on the contest date at the appointed time, your name will be dropped from our list as well as the KCBS reps' list, unless you have notified them or us of your reason for not coming.
Members of a Dillard Blue Grass $ BBQ Festival competing team or family members living in the home of a team member are not eligible to judge.
